At the early age of 19, I travelled to Marseille, France to study music, where I had the tremendous opportunity of working with inspirational pedagogues and musicians including Pierre Barbizet, Geneviève Joy, Claude Helffer, Henri Dutilleux, Anne-Marie Ghirardelli, Georges Boeuf, Danielle Saint-Croix and Jacques Rouvier.

Following my studies and work in France, I moved to London to explore new adventures. I was successful at my auditions at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I continued training in piano and piano pedagogy and completed a postgraduate course in piano accompaniment. I then qualified as a teacher and worked my way up the management ladder in education. The research programme during my teacher’s training course at City University and City Lit inspired me to get my PhD, which I completed in 2006 under the supervision of Dr. Peter O’Hagan and Dr. Caroline Potter.

I have had a very rich, diverse and rewarding career where I have worked with wonderful musicians and students. For nearly twenty years I worked as Head of Department in adult education. After a rewarding experience in adult education ,  I decided to change career paths and did so as a freelance musician, teacher, music examiner and adjudicator. Performance was an important part of my expression as a musician, mostly in chamber music. Since achieving a PhD in musicology, I have continued my research and have published several articles and reviewed many concerts and music recordings.

In my free time, I enjoy many activities with my family, friends, and local community. Part of the joy and excitement in life that I experience is thanks to the lovely people who are close to me. Life is an adventure, and I continue to explore projects of all sorts.
